As ambassadors for Alto Adige, the sommeliers will educate and engage industry peers in order to spread knowledge and appreciation for the region’s wines in the U.S.
Each highly qualified sommelier represents a top market for Alto Adige wine distribution. The ambassadors are Omar Lima, a sommelier at Spago in Los Angeles Chris Struck, the beverage director for ilili restaurant in New York City and Tiffany Tobey, the wine director at Tower Club in Dallas. Both Southold’s New York and Texas wines were well-loved by the wine community and were served in top restaurants around the world. Meador shares via Instagram that the winery, which started in Long Island, New York, in 2012 and relocated to Texas in 2017, will begin a slow process of closing in order for the family to move to Bordeaux, France and take over another family’s wine estate.
